The season continues with The Liar, by Corneille, adapted by David Ives (February 7 to 24, 2013), The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion (April 4 to 21, 2013) and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune by Terrence McNally (June 6 to 23, 2013).

Founded in 1979, Ensemble Theatre is Santa Barbara’s leading professional, resident theatre company. Under the leadership of Jonathan Fox, Executive Artistic Director, Ensemble has attracted accomplished performing artists from around the country. Ensemble is undertaking renovations of the Victoria Hall Theater, creating a modern 300-seat performing arts venue that will serve as its new home, slated for a grand opening in fall 2013.

Performances for Bell, Book and Candle run TuesSat at 8pm and Sun at 2 and 7pm, with a special Saturday 4pm matinee on Dec 8th. Tickets are $40–$65. Discounts are available to seniors, students, and groups of 10 or more. Students & Young Adults 26 and under are $20. Set in 1920s Montecito, The Hill Baron’s Kitchen, by local author Sharon Stockwell, is a banquet of visuals describing people, fashion, food, art, and architecture, and bringing our local history alive. The locations are the grand estates like Arcady, El Mirador, Il Brolino, Il Feuridis, Val Verde, Cima del Mundo, and many more. It is the story of Paco, who delivered from Diehls, considered in those days the ﬁnest gourmet market in the West. He supplied an array of eccentric Chefs in the kitchens of all Montecito’s magniﬁcent estates built by super wealthy Americans called “The Hill Barons.” Readers will experience the opening of the Biltmore in 1928 and the notorious gambling ship that took the town by storm serving alcohol during prohibition. The Hill Baron’s Kitchen could be called a fantasy for foodies. A book signing will take place on Friday, November 30th at Tecolote Book Shop (1470 E. Valley Rd) from 4 to 6pm.
