One month ago we published our Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge review but now we’ve lived with them for the past 4 weeks we’ve got to know them better and we’re taking second look. Firstly, quick charging and wireless charging are the future, they are both in the Galaxy S6. Nobody likes to wait around for your phone to charge up so Samsung have put their new charger and cable in the box, they say you’ll get 2 hours video playback for 10 mins plugged in which we salute. Wireless charging has been kicking about for a few years now but most phones will need a special case or battery cover to access this – plus the charging pads are expensive. Samsung have built this technology into the Galaxy S6. With Ikea designing oﬃce furniture, household lamps and bedside tables with this technology it won’t be long before we just place our phone down on the table before bed and you’ll soon forget all about cables and sockets.

HTC ONE M9 ONE OF THE BEST LOOKING SMART PHONES AROUND, WE PUT IT THROUGH IT’S PACES AFTER LAUNCH. The HTC One (M8) was one of last year’s best devices. While the HTC One M9 isn’t a huge departure from its predecessor, you get the feeling that it doesn’t have to be. The camera may divide users; on the one hand, it could be an acknowledgement that UltraPixels weren’t the way to go, but on the other hand, HTC is giving users what they want. But overall, the HTC One M9 is well designed, it is immensely powerful, and it comes with some novel software features. There are some pretty nifty software features to be found here. One in particular that we like is the customisation. You can take a picture, press “theme” when viewing it in the gallery, and the HTC One M9 will present you with a cropped section. It then analyses this and creates a theme based on the colours and style in it. It’s a very clever and personalised touch

that many will appreciate. It allows you to say, “This One M9 is mine. There are many like it, but this one is mine.” No doubt the subject of many debates around the M8 was its Ultrapixel sensor. The Ultrapixel technology found in last year’s M8 hasn’t been junked though. HTC have relocated this camera to the front facing position instead. Boomsound is still an integral part of the HTC One M9. It’s something that allows you to use your phone like an entertainment centre that doesn’t have to be personal. Pull out the headphones, crank it up to 11 and let everyone else hear. The HTC One M9 now comes with Dolby virtual surround sound to enhance the already great sound quality we’ve come to expect from HTC.

It’s the ﬁrst Apple smartphone to feature a 4.7 inch screen and remains one of the largest phones they’ve ever produced – though it’s still much easier to wrap your ﬁngers around than the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus.
