PERFECT EQUILIBRIUM The RB VC (Variable Counterbalance) Series of machines are unique – extending the bucket arm outwards automatically moves the boom-mounted counterweight backwards, keeping the machine in perfect equilibrium. The patented VC system provides high capacity at long reach, and maintains a low ground bearing pressure during the digging cycle. The VC’s sliding counterweight is ALWAYS in the correct position, and being boom mounted the counterweight speeds up the lift out during digging.
DIRECT PULL ON THE BUCKET A rope directly connected to the bucket is operated by a powerful hydraulic winch to provide speedy bucket filling, better penetration and increased productivity.
ENVIRONMENTALLY COMPATIBLE The long reach capability of the VC product is ideally suited to the handling of hazardous waste material, slurry ponds, environmental clean up operations and refuse tips in cities. The long reach of the VC keeps the operator safe and well away from the unknown or contaminated materials being handled.
VC PRECISION ON WATERWAYS The VC machine is as ideally suited for maintaining waterways and channels as it is for cutting new ones. The Variable Counterbalance concept is particularly beneficial in soft ground conditions where the near perfect weight distribution prevents damage to the bank. Mounted on a pontoon the VC gives yet further flexibility working at extreme radii. The direct pull of the hydraulic winch gives high bucket force regardless of the arm position and the hydraulic bucket ram always ensures superb penetration.
SEA DEFENCE & COASTAL PROTECTION The extreme reach of the VC series excavators makes the machine ideally suited for sea defence projects and coastal protection work.
VC ADAPTABILITY
WORKS WHERE MAN CANNOT TREAD When the going really gets tough, the fitment of ‘Bogmaster’ crawlers allows a VC to work where a man cannot walk. Ground pressures as low as 0.17kg/sq.cm. (2.4lb/sq.in.) can be achieved.
VC’s in drainage applications often alternate as efficient high speed weed cutters and weed rakes. The weedcutting control is mounted on the main control valve.
