In the city of Roanoke, 68.0% of children and adolescents are enrolled in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, as compared to 42.4% in the MSA and 39.7% for Virginia school districts as a whole.28 Half of the school children in Franklin County and nearly half in Craig County are enrolled in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
