The Port of Stockton, California is located in the northern part of California's Central Valley and is approximately 70 nautical miles east of the San Francisco Bay. Berthing facilities are available with water depth of 35 feet at dockside. The Stockton Deep Water Channel has an average depth at low tide of 37 feet. The transfer of Rough and Ready Island in the year 2000 has increased the overall acreage and warehousing capabilities for the Port. The transfer added 1,400 acres of land making the total more than 4,200 acres. More than 5.5 million square feet are dedicated to warehousing. More than a million additional square feet are transit sheds for waterborne cargo. In total, there are approximately 60 warehouses and 14 covered transit sheds. We have added an additional 16,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in Building #312, at Rough and Ready Island, within FTZ #231. In the year 2009, 102 ships and 13 barges called on the Port of Stockton. A computerized distribution service is available and the Port is now listed on the U.S. Customs Automated Manifest System.
