Crowded buses, waiting passengers being left behind and unpredictable journey times are affecting quality of service for customers. With buses arriving every two to three minutes during peak times, conventional buses are already working near capacity. Demand is expected to grow, and a new solution is needed. TransLink and the Province of B.C. initiated the UBC Line Rapid Transit Study to assess a range of alternatives for future rapid transit service and determine the preferred solution. The study is still in the early stages, and a preliminary analysis identified alternatives for more detailed study. At these community workshops, TransLink will seek your input on these alternatives for further development and evaluation.
