Having been a resident and a working professional in Stark County for sixteen years prior to my enrollment in the alumni Advantage Program, I was not sure that Leadership Stark County would be of much benefit to me. WOW was I proved wrong! LSC offers a number of different programs - one being tailored around my past leadership accomplishments - The Alumni Advantage Program. LSC is a well-oiled machine for developing programs, tours and top area speakers that illuminate the excellent professional, cultural, historical and charitable community that is Stark County. From the well-kept secret of The First Tee of Canton to the heights of the Timken Research Center, you will experience and learn SO MUCH of the full spectrum of this county in which we live, conduct business and have fun. Make every effort to allow LSC to show and teach you more about Stark County that will improve your business and personal life! Mike Busch, P.E. AEP Ohio

Riding Shotgun with the Stark County Sheriff ’s Department Lee Ann Klein, grants coordinator at the Stark Community Foundation and 24th class member, reflects on her shift spent with Sergeant Terry Curry as part of her Signature Program experience. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Sheriff’s Office and the Cruiser Ride. I was partnered with Sergeant Curry, and he was just amazing. Everyone was kind, and I was given a brief tour of the prison, and then went out for a cruiser ride with the Sergeant. Turns out, we are neighbors! The experience did impact me tremendously. I have so much respect for our policemen, firefighters, etc. They go above and beyond to protect us, and I thank each and every one for doing their jobs and doing so with such great pride. I saw a side of Stark County that some only hear about. I was allowed into the home of someone on the fringes of society. It amazed me how kind and gentle the Sergeant was with this woman, and how he treated her in such a respectful manner despite the situation. The truth is, it is not anything like what we see on the television. All the cop shows on TV do an injustice to what our officers must go through daily. I respect them even more now that I’ve seen a little of what they must endure. Thanks for the opportunity, it was truly amazing.”
