OIL & GAS MAY Oil and Gas News | Attend Utica Midstream on June 10 Next date on our oil and gas calendar for 2015 is Utica Midstream, our business development seminar on June 10 at the Barrette Center at Walsh University. We are happy to welcome Dawood Engineering as the presenting sponsor of the event. Once again, the seminar is being co-produced by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Shaledirectories.com. Midstream is about building the processing plants and pipelines that deliver Utica energy to customers, a popular topic for our audiences for the last two years. Nick P. Homan of Marathon Pipe Line LLC will be one of our speakers. His company is a subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum, owner and operator of Canton’s oil refinery. He will talk about the Cornerstone Pipeline, a nearly 50-mile project to bring crude oil, condensate and natural gasoline from the Utica processing facilities in Harrison County to the Canton refinery. Also speaking will be Kris Evanto, manager of development in the Utica for Williams, which recently acquired Access Midstream. The Williams office in North Canton is home base for 100 or more people who work on pipeline and gas processing projects throughout the Utica. Speaking for Spectra Energy, which proposes to build the Nexus gas transmission pipeline across Stark and neighboring counties, will be Anne Moore, director of business development. Speaking for EnLink, a midstream company that presented at last year’s seminar, will be Kelly Tipton, senior commercial representative for the Ohio River Valley. Luncheon speaker will be Frank Nieto, senior editor at Midstream Business, a Hart Energy publication. More companies are coming on board.

We invite you to register for Midstream at www.uticacapital.com. Our thanks one last time to the speakers who made Utica Upstream 2015 an event full of business-useful information: Prof. Jeffrey Dick of Youngstown State University, Ohio 6th District Congressman Bill Johnson, Rayola Dougher of the American Petroleum Institute, Rick Simmers, the chief of oil and gas regulation at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Ohio Oil and Gas Association Executive Vice President Shawn Bennett, and energy journalist Rick Stouffer. Congratulations to a Utica business friend, Tom Moline, executive vice president of steel manufacturing at TimkenSteel, and to TimkenSteel Chairman and CEO Ward J. “Tim” Timken Jr., and all the TimkenSteel associates and business partners, on the dedication of TimkenSteel’s quarter-billiondollar vertical steel caster last month. TimkenSteel has the most technically advanced steel mill in North America, and it specializes in steel strong enough for the most difficult jobs on Earth, such as drilling for oil and gas 8,000 feet below ground. Tom was a manufacturing speaker at our first Utica Summit in October 2013. Our Utica Summit III will return to Kent State Stark on Oct. 13. David Kaminski Vice President for Public Policy and Energy (330) 458-2059 davidk@cantonchamber.org

Sponsorships are taking shape, too. Our most loyal local supporters — AultCareAultWorks, Beaver Excavating and Furbay Electric Supply — have once again offered us assistance in producing this seminar for the sake of bringing information about Utica Shale business opportunity to the Canton-Stark County-Eastern Ohio-Western Pennsylvania business community. Joining them as a sponsor will be the International Union of Operating Engineers and CESO Engineering.

BIZ BITZ Leppo Rents, an Akron-based construction equipment rental company, is seeking to raise awareness by introducing two JLG boom lifts to their fleet: one painted pink for Breast Cancer and one painted yellow with puzzle pieces for Autism. In honor of its 70th anniversary, Leppo Rents is giving back to the community. In 2015, Leppo will be offering both 86-ft. boom lifts for rent to the construction, oil & gas, and other related industries with a minimum of 10% of rental dollars generated donated to one of several partnering charities, including Autism Speaks and several area Breast Cancer-related charities. “We’ve seen significant growth in our company and in the local economy in the past five years,” said Jeff Ulman, VP of Rental for Leppo Rents. “We felt we have a strong platform to promote these machines, raise money and ultimately help raise awareness for these causes.” On the same day it kicked off the 2015 Annual Arts Campaign to raise $1,775,000, ArtsinStark went to Cleveland to pick up its third Community Impact Award. “It comes with a $12,500 check,” says Campaign Chair Bob DeHoff, “and we’re using those dollars to help us get to goal.” ArtsinStark’s third award, from the Dominion Foundation and Inside Business Magazine, is for the successful launch of The Eleven public art series. “Winning three times should tell us something genius-like is happening with the arts here,” says ArtsinStark Board Chair Max Deuble, “and when the Campaign ends on May 20 we want to be the only united arts fund drive ever to make goal for ten years in a row.” To get more information about genius and the arts, please visit www.ArtsinStark.com/DONATE or call 330-453-1075. Mercy Medical Center announced that Cindy L. Hickey has been appointed vice president of Marketing and Public Relations. A Mercy employee since 1984, Hickey reports to Thomas E. Cecconi, president and chief executive officer at Mercy Medical Center. “We are pleased Cindy agreed to become a part of our executive team at Mercy Medical Center,” Cecconi says. “She brings over 30 years of experience working at the hospital including upper level management positions involved in planning marketing, advertising and public relations strategies. A lifelong Massillon resident, Cindy has

18

established excellent rapport in the community and is respected by her co-workers.” Hickey graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/ Public Relations with a minor in Marketing from Bowling Green State University in 1981. She joined Mercy Medical Center in 1984 as staff writer in Public Relations. Her work experience at the hospital includes manager of Women’s Pavilion and Telemarketing (1986 to 1994), manager of Program Development (1994 to 2004), director of Public Relations (2004 to 2013), and most recently, administrative director of Marketing and Public Relations. The National Pro Fastpitch League and CBS Sports Network have signed an agreement making CBS Sports Network the exclusive television home of NPF for the second consecutive season and expands the overall coverage package of NPF action. Coverage will include Akron Racers games in June and August. Innis Maggiore has announced that Brian Trautman has joined the staff as a web developer to help the Ohio web firm further its growing number of client web projects. A 2013 Kent State University graduate, Trautman was employed as an IT user support analyst while earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science. A Randolph native, he trained in systems administration as well as web development. Prior to joining Innis Maggiore, he was with TMW Systems in Cleveland where he worked as a web developer for an enterprise application’s framework. “We are very pleased to welcome Brian to our team where he will enhance our capabilities and make an immediate impact for our clients,” said Mark Vandegrift, principal web and digital services. “In today’s digital world, websites are often the first place people look to learn about a company’s position in the marketplace. More and more clients seek our web services because they want a website that not only looks good, but has its roots in strategy that executes on brand position.” American Solutions for Business (ASB) announced a partnership with SWC Enterprises, Inc., a 30-year-old business located in North Canton, Ohio. SWC has specialized in printing, promotional products and marketing services for a client base of nearly 500. Steve Wessel, SWC’s president and sales associate, is happy with the company’s new

association with ASB. “Our partnership with ASB will allow us to continue delivering the same level of service and personal attention to our clients that we have for 30 years, but leverage the purchasing power, technology and e-commerce abilities of a large national company.” Justin Zavadil, Executive Vice President at ASB said, “We’re pleased to welcome the SWC group to the American family. Their team of sales associates and support staff bring extensive experience in serving the print and promotional needs of clients in Northeast Ohio.” ASB is an industry-leading distributor of promotional products, print and document solutions, office supplies, eCommerce and marketing solutions. David Baker, president and executive director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will deliver the keynote address at the Malone University Commencement exercise on Saturday, May 9. The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Faith Family Church in North Canton. Baker was appointed to the position in January of 2014 and has very quickly established an exciting vision for the Hall of Fame by working closely with National Football League owners and Canton and Stark County community leaders. He has established an initiative to expand the Hall of Fame’s brand across the world in addition to enhancing its campus in Canton, all while focusing on the organization’s mission statement: “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence everywhere.” Huntington Bank has been named the winner of the 2015 TNS Choice Award for Consumer Retail Banking in the Central Region of the U.S. This marks the third time Huntington has won the recognition and led the Central Region.
