Inner Communications: Planning the Strategy Internal Communications: Planning the Plan Many firms focus on communicating for their audiences that are outside; segmenting markets, researching, developing approaches and messages. Focus and this same attention should be turned inside to generate an internal communications strategy. Successful internal communication preparation enables small and large organizations to produce a procedure for information distribution as a way of addressing organizational issues. Before inner communications preparation can start some basic questions must be answered. -- What's the condition of the business? Ask questions. Do a little research. How's your company doing? What do your employees think about the business? You're bound to get more/better responses via an internal survey than an external one. Some may be surprised by how much employees care and desire to make their workplaces better. You may also uncover some hard truths or understandings. This information can help lay a basis for how they can be communicated and what messages are communicated. -- What do we want to be when we grow-up? This is the point where the culture they would like to symbolize the organization's future can be defined by a business. Why not have an internal mission statement? The statement might concentrate on customer service, constant learning, striving to function as the most effective firm with the highest satisfaction evaluations, although not only to function as the largest business in the marketplace having the most sales, or quality. Where are we going, and what is the improvement? Internal communication objects must be measurable, and may transform through time as aims are achieved or priorities change. For instance, the fiscal situation of a firm might be its biggest concern. One goal might be to decrease spending. How do everyone help decrease spending?
