2011–2012 Milestone and Achievements Gloucester County College •

In summer 2012, an outdoor seating project was completed, adding new bleachers to the athletic complexes. Areas included were behind home plate at the baseball and softball fields as well as at the soccer fields and tennis courts.

In addition to winning the NATYCAA Cup for overall athletic excellence, the Roadrunner athletic program also received the CAANJ Cup for the best two-year athletic program in the state of New Jersey.

Coaches Milestones: Mike Dickson, Baseball, moved over the 250 win plateau in 2012.

A pair of GCC student-athletes were also honored for their academic success: Vladislav Koldomasov, Men’s Tennis, earned the President’s Medallion for Engineering and Christiana Unger earned the President’s Medallion for Arts and Sciences.

The Roadrunners continued their commitment to community service during the 2010–11 academic year. Notable contributions were made by the Women’s Basketball team with the Pink Zone event; Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Women’s Tennis teams contributed to Operation Backpack; and members of many of the GCC teams came together to help with the Emmanual Cancer Foundation Holiday Gift Drive and Gift Wrapping Event. For the first time this year, the Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Baseball and Wrestling teams participated in the Gloucester County Autism Walk. The athletes helped raise more than $500 for the cause.

31

Men’s Soccer Head Coach Alan Smith (15-43-1) resigned at the conclusion of the 2011 season. Smith was replaced by Jason Dugan.

The Athletic Department full-time staff includes Ron Case (Director of Athletics), Brian Rowan (Asst. Director of Athletics), Lynn Kindrachuk (Fitness Center Director), Elisse Spaulding (Athletic Trainer), and Leanne Schoening (Team Coordinator). Part-time staff includes Bob Fredrick, Fred Swartz, Wayne Murschell and Mike DiNuova. Student workers for the 2011–12 school year were Brad Schilling, Brittany Fitzmaurice, Shamell Martin, Michelle Relation, Kevin Walsh and Bill Mendek.
