TACO BELL ARENA It is one of the finest college basketball venues in the West... It has been the site of cherished moments for Bronco basketball fans, and it has provided some of the greatest spectacles in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Boise State University’s Taco Bell Arena has been the home of Bronco basketball since 1982. Formerly known as the BSU Pavilion, Taco Bell Arena has provided Boise State fans with plenty of thrills for more than 25 years — from the exciting Big Sky Conference championship days of Chris Childs and Arnell Jones in the late 1980s to the Broncos’ run in the 2011 College Basketball Invitational in the debut season of head coach Leon Rice. With a dedicated fan base cheering them on, it’s a good bet the 2011-12 Broncos will continue to enjoy the home-court advantage Taco Bell Arena has provided over the years.

As one of the premier basketball facilities in the West, the 12,480-seat arena has been selected to host first- and second-round games in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in 1983, 1989, 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2005 and 2009. And those “March Madness” contests in Taco Bell Arena have set the stage for some of the most spectacular games and exciting finishes in NCAA Tournament lore. Who can forget the coast-to-coast buzzer-beater by UCLA’s Tyus Edney that beat Missouri 75-74 and propelled the Bruins to the 1995 title? Or what about the opening round of the 2001 tournament where the four games in Taco Bell Arena— highlighted by Hampton’s 58-57 upset of second-seeded Iowa State — were decided by a total of seven points? Basketball experts called it the most exciting single day at one site in tournament history.
