At the recent United Spirit Association’s High School Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, Freedom High School’s varsity cheer team earned the title of National Champion for the second year in a row. The 29-girl team bested 25 opposing squads to take first place in the Super Large Varsity Show Cheer intermediate category. This is the fourth year that Coach Sandra Torres has led the Freedom team to victory. “All the girls worked very hard throughout the year with the goal of repeating their championship,” said Torres. “And they did. “I couldn’t be more pleased with their work ethic, commitment to their school and to the cheer program. This team is a great example of skill, discipline and positive attitudes

he 11U Delta Dawgs baseball team went undefeated in Peoria, Ariz. in the recent Spring Training II Tournament. The 11U team swept the competition and went undefeated against teams from Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and California, scoring 57 runs in five games while allowing only 14. In the championship game, the Dawgs destroyed the Rio Rico Dragons from Tucson, Ariz. By a score of 13-0.
