osnianDrina Canton Goražde takes up the surface of 504.6 square km and consists of three municipalities: Goražde, Foča-Ustikolina and Pale-Prača. The Drina River has always been the main traffic artery in the area of eastern Bosnia. It connected the coast, Serbia, Montenegro with Sarajevo and other parts. The presence and the development of human communities had existed in the area of the upper Drina flow since the prehistory. Rich natural and cultural-historical heritage are the resources that have priceless value and potential for the development of tourism in the area of Bosnian-Drina Canton Goražde. Natural and geographical diversity of the area, untouched nature, preserved flora and fauna represent important resources of this Canton and are the basis for sports and recreational, hunting and fishing tourism and the destination for those who like active rest in untouched nature by the banks of the rivers Drina, Prača and Kolina.
TOURIST OFFER, TYPES AND KINDS
Bosnian-Drina Canton Goražde has at its disposal great natural potentials, which offer the possibility for the tourism to become the leading economic branch and the holder of the development of the municipality of Goražde. Natural resources of exceptional beauty and diversity, like beautiful woods, canyons, rivers and mountains, offer the possibility for everyone to find something for himself (log floating, rafting, kayaking, swimming, fishing, mountaineering, etc.) compatible with everybody’s interests. The Drina River represents a true attraction for numerous local and foreign guests, and because of this the development of tourism is mostly based on the possibilities that this river gives. The log floating on the Drina is already familiar tourist product, due to which this area is visited by numerous tourists. Along the Drina there are several beaches for bathers: Gradski žanj, Sadba, Osanica, etc. The resort Rorovi is a very attractive and well visited place and it also represents the symbol of resistance (1992 – 1995). The mountain peaks Kriva draga, Ruda glava, Crni rajski vrh, Klek, Borovac and Grebek give the image
of slightly wild space (in the positive sense), free and preserved and give exceptional atmosphere for the mountaineers, medicinal herbs and forest fruits fans.
Log floating Especially attractive tourist product of the Bosnian-Drina Canton Goražde is the log floating on the Drina. The float is an unusual sailing boat made of round-wood from which you can fish and enjoy the gastro offer of local specialties. Log floating is an experience of a special kind that you can’t describe with words; you just have to experience it. Tourist agency “Obner” will provide you the complete atmosphere in floating. The log floating on the Drina provokes the curiosity; it is breathtaking, rouses suspense and the desire for coming back.
