BW cards can be recharged, always offer significant discounts (at least 40 percent) and can be spent in any amount at any participating business. BW cards can be purchased online at boiseweekly.com (just click on the BW Card button) or at BWHQ, 523 Broad St. For more information, call Office Manager Shea Sutton at 208344-2055. H GIFT uid OL I D AY 2 0 10 B oise Weekly has published holiday gift guides before but nothing like this. This year, the BW editorial staff was given a mission to spread across the Treasure Valley to find the most intriguing, unusual, fun, functional, ridiculous, beautiful, luxurious and hysterical things out there. In other worlds, we've assembled what we hope are some of the outright coolest gift ideas around. Out of hundreds of suggestions, we narrowed down the list to our favorite picks, ranging from tchotchkes, to games, to books, to food, to booze, to fashion. We've also included a hefty portion of what we like to call experiences: things you can give to the person who has everything but who is game to do anything. One thing all these items have in common is that none of them was selected because of advertising. Everything we chose to highlight was picked simply because we like it, regardless of whether a business bought an ad. Another factor they have in common is that they are all from local businesses, and many are even made locally. It's part of Boise Weekly's continuing commitment to the buy-local movement. If you need to know more about where to find these fabulous gifts, flip to the back of the section, where a full business directory will give you all the details. We hope we've just made your holiday shopping a heck of a lot easier. You're welcome. --Deanna Darr TA B L E O F F A M I LY FRIENDS NEIGHBORS CONTENTS 8 16 22 24 26 28 PUBLISHER: Sally Freeman Sally@boiseweekly.com Office Manager: Shea Sutton Shea@boiseweekly.com EDITORIAL Editor: Rachael Daigle Rachael@boiseweekly.com Managing Editor: Deanna Darr Deanna@boiseweekly.com Proofreaders: Annabel Armstrong , Heather Lile Shoppers: Amy Atkins, Sarah Barber, Rachael Daigle, Deanna Darr, Josh Gross, Heather Lile, Tara Morgan, George Prentice CREATIVE Art Director: Leila Ramella-Rader Leila@boiseweekly.com Graphic Designers: Jen Grable Adam@boiseweekly.com Adam Rosenlund Adam@boiseweekly.com ADVERTISING Advertising Director: Lisa Ware Lisa@boiseweekly.com Account Executives: Sabra Brue Sabra@boiseweekly.com Meshel Miller Meshel@boiseweekly.com Jessi Strong Jessi@boiseweekly.com Justin Vipperman Justin@boiseweekly.com Jill Weigel Jill@boiseweekly.com CIRCULATION Shea Sutton Shea@boiseweekly.com Man About Town: Stan Jackson Stan@boiseweekly.com Boise Weekly prints 30,000 TO CONTACT US: Boise Weekly was founded copies ever y Wednesday and Boise Weekly's office is located in 1992 by Andy and Debi is available free of charge at 523 Broad St., Hedden-Nicely.
