The Dish on Food, Wine & Restaurants

Palate Pleasures Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Celebrates A Decade Of Indulgence t’s hard to believe the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival has been showcasing its mouthwatering treats, mind-blowing cocktails and celebrity chef presentations for more than a decade, but it’s true. In honor of its 10th anniversary, this year’s festival, which is scheduled February 24th through February 27th, will present its most gastronomically impressive lineup to date.

Planned especially for this year, Chef Emeril Lagasse and Martha Stewart will host the event’s featured 10th anniversary soiree, “Let Them Eat Cake,” where pastry chefs and renowned confectioners – including Margaret Braun, Jacques Torres and Food Network’s Duff Goldman – will present decadent delicacies to complement cocktails and Moët & Chandon Champagne (which, of course, will flow all night long). Also planned in honor of the festival’s anniversary is a tribute dinner for world-renowned Chef Alain Ducasse. The evening will feature a veritable “Who’s Who” from the culinary world, all there to honor Chef Ducasse, winner of more Michelin Stars than all of his contemporaries.

What else is on tap: A South Beach spin on the popular Food Network show, “The Best Thing I Ever Ate!” hosted by Goldman, alongside Anne Burrell, Sunny Anderson, Chuck Hughes, Scott Conant, Geoffrey Zakarian and others, all of whom will divulge favorite dishes from beachside restaurants; Kohl’s Fun and Fit as a Family featuring Kellogg’s Kidz Kitchen, an event featuring Chef Jamie Oliver, Giada De Laurentiis, Tyler Florence, Rachael Ray and others. Patrons can also expect a plethora of dinners, brunches and parties hosted by Food Network’s most popular chefs. How does a Paula Deen’s Down Home Cookin’ Sunday Gospel Brunch sound? Or an Amstel Light Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray? Or a Perrier-Jouët BubbleQ event hosted by Bobby Flay? The weekend will also feature a Wine Spectator Wine Seminar series, a Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village and much more, with proceeds benefitting Florida International University's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. We suggest you start dieting now. O For more information, call 877-7623933 or visit sobewineandfoodfest.com. February 2 0 1 1
