Psychology PSY 110

Life Span Development 3 0 3 This course provides an introduction to the study of human growth and development. Emphasis is placed on the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects of development from conception to death. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of development across the life span and apply this knowledge to their specific field of study. Prerequisites:

Interpersonal Psychology 3 0 3 This course introduces basic principles of psychology as they relate to personal and professional development. Emphasis is placed on personality traits, communication/leadership styles, effective problem solving, and cultural diversity as they apply to personal and work environments. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of these principles of psychology as they apply to personal and professional development.

PSY 150

General Psychology 3 0 3 This course provides an overview of the scientific study of human behavior. Topics include history, methodology, biopsychology, sensation, perception, learning, motivation, cognition, abnormal behavior, personality theory, social psychology, and other relevant topics. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of the science of psychology. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in social/behavioral sciences. Prerequisites:

Psychology of Adjustment 3 0 3 This course introduces the study of the adjustment process focusing on contemporary challenges individuals must deal with in everyday life. Topics include theories of behavior, career choices, self-understanding, coping mechanisms, human relationships, intimacy, sociocultural factors influencing healthy personal adjustment, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an awareness of the processes of adjustment. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement pre-major and/or elective course requirement. Prerequisites:
