Mark Stankevitz, MSA ’12 Audit Associate, Grant Thornton, LLP “I moved to Boston after graduating from the University of Chicago in 2010, where I majored in economics. As someone without an undergraduate accounting degree, I was excited to learn that I could complete my MSA at Boston College in just one year. And because of the quality of the professors and students and reputation of the school, I knew I would graduate with a solid grasp of accounting and in a position to succeed immediately in the profession. So far, I have had a great experience working in public accounting at Grant Thornton. The hands-on classroom experience I obtained at BC gave me a leg up over other new associates as I started my career. Additionally, the career counseling I received was instrumental in guiding me through the recruiting season and helping me find the right fit. I look forward to being able to continue to grow and develop as an accounting professional, and I am grateful that the MSA Program at Boston College gave me such a great start in that endeavor.” Mark tied for highest score among all 2012 master’s exam candidates on the Massachusetts certified public accountancy exam.
