one room was originally mahogany. Denise refinished them in soft white, and they look just darling. One window box is already designated a future toy chest for their first baby grandson, Evan, who just turned four months old. Up here is also an adorable country cottage bathroom, complete with a soaking tub. Paul’s office also resides up here, too; if you have to work, it’s better with a view, that’s for sure. On the walk back downstairs, a last look around drew my eye to a little sign in the living room, “Unwind – come on in, pour yourself a glass of wine and sit by the fire.”

These are my kind of people, and now here is Denise and Paul’s story. “Just a little background of how we selected this area to build our retirement home. Many years ago I imported Paul to Harbor Springs, Michigan, while I was one of the managers of Stafford's Pier Restaurant. We married at the small chapel on top of Boyne Highlands in 1979. Our son, Matthew, was born in Petoskey. (He now resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Jenn, and his son, Evan.)
