Let’s Celebrate

T

he 68th annual La Grange Pet Parade is here! Come help us celebrate a fantastic 68 years as we welcome families, pets and parade supporters on the morning of Saturday, May 31.

America’s original pet parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. for two hours of fun, floats, marching bands and, of course, plenty of pets. The route runs north along La Grange Road — from two blocks south of the tracks — then west along Burlington Avenue to Brainard. Every year, the La Grange Pet Parade excites hundreds of children of all ages. It’s truly a colorful, one-of-a-kind, crowdpleasing event.

Grand Marshals include David Franson, longtime Pet Parade participant and retiring principal of Lyons Township High School, which is celebrating its 125th year; and Mai Martinez, reporter and newscaster for CBS 2 in Chicago.

Calla Montana of La Grange Highlands Elementary is our Honorary Junior Grand Marshal, who created this year’s theme, “The Pet Parade is 68! Let’s Celebrate.” Our Honorary Grand Marshal is Brody Roybal, a Gold Medalist with the 2014 Sochi Paralympics ice sledge hockey team.
