METAMORPHOSIS ‘11 the iconic media fest!

Chief Guests Ramesh sippy and Boney Kapoor, bollywood's leading personalities along with Chhagan Bhujbal, Founder Chairman - MET, cutting the ribbon at the inaugural ceremony of MET's iconic media fest, METAMORPHIS. MET Institute of Mass Media (MET IMM) has undergone tremendous metamorphosis since its inception, changing its form from a tender caterpillar to a fully grown beautiful butterfly with vibrant colours. Be it any field in Media and Entertainment, MET Institute of Mass Media has proven it’s par excellence. In a similar effort towards the unbeaten path of change, MET IMM has initiated ‘METAMORPHOSIS’ an integrated media event which offers budding media professionals to showcase their talent and interact with the giants of the industry. In the first year METAMORPHOSIS event started on a lighter note with the ‘Comedy Festickle’, followed by ‘Celebrating Game Changers’. This year in 2011, MET IMM is celebrating India. The theme for the event is ‘Dil se India’ – global thoughts, Indian ways! An effort into understanding that sense of Indianness we retain and incorporate into our films, ads and all our communication despite being headto-head with most global superpowers. For instance, McDonalds’ the food giant introducing McAloo Tikki for the Indian market exemplifies how Indian we truly are! During this mega media fest METAMORPHOSIS – ‘Dil se India’. Over thirty events featured across three days, students participated in workshops, panel discussions, Marathi plays, live reportings, campaign designs, jingle creations and many more, with lots of excitement. It was an eclectic mix of over 30

pre-entry and on-ground events, 6 panel discussions and 3 workshops in the field of Advertising, Journalism and Entertainment. Over 400 students from across Mumbai participated in this media fest. The event was inaugurated by leading bollywood icon Mr. Ramesh Shippy, Mr. Boney Kapoor along with Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, Chairman – Mumbai Educational Trust. On this occasion MET was graced by leading celebrities, personalities from the field of Advertisement, Journalism and Entertainment. On one hand stalwarts like Rohit Shetty, Anu Malik, Atul Kulkarni, Arti Jadhav, to name a few, from Bollywood added to the fest’s glory, on the other hand top notch professionals like Ali Merchant, Founder – Triton, Aman Mannan, Creative Director – Mudra Max, Ajay Jhala, CEO – BBDO, Dhunji Wadia, President – Everest Brand Solutions, Mahesh Gharat, SCD – Ogilvy, enlightened the audience on various mass media topics. The Grand Finale was concluded with a bang, the theme of the grand finale event was based on ‘NAVARASA’, which are the nine basic emotions of human beings – Shringara, Karuna, Haasya, Roudra, Bhayanaka, Bibhatsya, Adhbhuta, Veera and Shanta.
