The Bald Head Island experience begins when you board the passenger ferry at Deep Point Marina in Southport, N.C. The scenic 20-minute ferry ride to the island provides a perfect transition to “turtle time,” a term islanders have long used to refer to Bald Head Island’s unhurried tempo.
Once you arrive here, you’ll travel by electric cart, bicycle or your own two feet. At the island’s posted speed limit of 18 miles per hour, you’ll be able to appreciate the sights, smells and sounds of life by the shore.
