Madrid has been an obvious inspiration for Antonio López, one of the contemporary Spanish artists who have dedicated the most works to the capital. The Museo Thyssen has organized a retrospective exhibition that demonstrate the unmistakably detailed style of the artist. This show, on its way to being a record, will remain open until 25 September. Madrid ha supuesto una clara inspiración para Antonio López, uno de los artistas españoles contemporáneos que más obras han dedicado a la capital. El Museo Thyssen ha organizado una retrospectiva que muestran el inconfundible estilo detallista del autor. Esta exposición, que va camino de récord, permanecerá abierta hasta el próximo 25 de septiembre.
En Vivo Getafe 2011 brings together Rock, Metal, Punk, World Music and Hip Hop. From Rosendo, Sôber, The Offspring, Los Delinqüentes to Kiko Veneno, a total of 45 artists will be giving performances on 8, 9 and 10 September. It will be the second edition of this festival to be staged at the Getafe Open Air venue (in the city of Getafe, just south of Madrid) En Vivo Getafe 2011 reúne Rock, Metal, Punk, World Music y Hip Hop. Desde Rosendo, Sôber, The Offspring, Los Delinqüentes a Kiko Veneno, un total de 45 artistas ofrecerán sus actuaciones los días 8, 9 y 10 de septiembre. Será la 2ª edición de este festival que acoge el espacio Getafe Open Air de Madrid.

The exhibition Atesorar España (Treasures of Spain) brings one up close to scenes of our country in the 19th and 20th centuries. It’s a selection of more than 300 images taken by Spanish and foreign photographers, today the property of the Hispanic Society of America. The display can be seen until November at the Bancaja cultural centres in Valencia and Alicante. La exposición Atesorar España nos acerca escenas de nuestro país en los siglos XIX y XX. Es una selección de más de 300 imágenes captadas por fotógrafos españoles y extranjeros, hoy propiedad de la Hispanic Society of America. Esta muestra se podrá ver hasta el próximo mes de noviembre, en los centros culturales Bancaja de Valencia y Alicante.
The popular flamenco song sung by the miners of Cartagena receives homage every summer at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas. Artists of the standing of Pitingo, Estrella Morente and Farruquito will be the stars of the flamenco galas that will be held between 3 and 13 August at the town of La Unión in the province of Murcia. El popular cante flamenco que entonaban los mineros de Cartagena recibe un homenaje cada verano en el Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas. Artistas de la talla de Pitingo, Estrella Morente o Farruquito serán los protagonistas de las galas flamencas que se celebrarán entre el 3 y el 13 de agosto, en la localidad de La Unión (Murcia).
