The Grey house This is in fact an old fishing shed that has been restored and is now used as an exhibit space for the Archipélitude Museum. In it, at ground level, you’ll find a room dedicated to the first motor engines for dories, and upstairs a fully-equipped kitchen circa 1950. Open from July 1 to the end of September From 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM Closed on July 14.
Notre-Dame-des Marins Church (official heritage building) The church dominating the panorama of the island is a unique monument, made entirely of wood and inaugurated in 1874. Its hill-top location is a symbol of the past importance of the Catholic faith. Its interior decoration and numerous ex-votos are worth the visit. Go inside and feel the special atmosphere that permeates the building. Many elements are evocative of the sea: the blue colour, the two conchs that serve as holy water fount, the ship anchors, or the shape of the ceiling. Though a modern altar has been installed as required by Vatican II, the old one remains and so does the pulpit. Take time to look at the 14 stations of the cross; they are the work of a local artist of the 19th century and are quite unique. Open July and August From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
