Festival des Fruits de mer 24th Edition Bastille Day July 14 is the National Holiday in France The Seafood Festival is held in Miquelon and commemorates the taking of the where hundreds of seafood dishes are Bastille in 1789. La Route is now an integral part of the international yachting calendar on the East Coast of North America. Sailors enjoy the challenge of the 360 nautical miles separating Halifax from Saint-Pierre. Sailors from different maritime regions get together to appreciate the French islands.
