The Mariners are the fourth expansion team to begin play in the Cactus League before playing an official major league game. They called Tempe Diablo Stadium home before permanently moving into the Peoria Sports Complex in 1994. Sharing that facility with the San Diego Padres, the two started a trend by becoming the first pair to share a spring training facility. DID YOU KNOW: The only time two perfect games occurred at the same stadium during the same year was in 2012 at Seattle’s Safeco Field — a first in Mariners history. The Mariners are also one of two teams to never play in a World Series.
