Manifesto of internationalist solidarity Askapena is an internationalist organization of Basque popular movement that has 27 years of struggle and commitment. Their ultimate goal is an internationalist Euskal Herria and it takes part in national and social construction of their own people to achieve independence and socialism for the Basque Country with other people. Five years ago the Spanish government raided to 8 of its members and now it asks six years in prison for 5 of them and the banning of the organization. Manifesto of internationalist solidarity to the trial of Askapena and 5 Basque internationalist comrades: Five years have passed since the raid on 8 Basque internationalist comrades. The Spanish State, through its prosecution, has just made public its petition that calls for six years in prison for 5 of the 8 comrades and the outlawing of Askapena, Askapena Elkartruke, and Herriak Aske. A new repressive attack on the Basque people that joins a long list of fascist measures by which the Spanish government has closed medias and banned political parties and popular movement organizations. This time the Spanish state has gone directly against internationalism. As Imperialist State, it wants off the job Basque militants have been developing for decades. Internationalism committed to fight his own peoples´ struggle, giving solidarity to the different revolutionary processes in the world and seeking solidarity from other committed peoples. As if this were not enough, the State seeks to criminalize also internationalist solidarity with Euskal Herria. According to his reactionary conception, the work we do as Euskal Herriaren Lagunak (EHL-committees of solidarity with the Basque people) it is a mere extension of Askapena abroad. The State also is trying to criminalize the different Basque Brigades for decades are sent from Euskal Herria to know the realities of our different peoples in struggle. But what we can expect from an Imperialist State ...? It can hardly understand our internationalist being, it will be difficult to understand that internationalism is the tenderness of peoples. For us, the struggle of the Basque people is worthy of support for legitimacy, for their rebellion and the liberating nature of their cause. Because we feel the fight of Euskal Herria our own and because we have decided so, we will continue to demonstrate our solidarity with the struggle of this linked nation. Therefore, we would like to invite different people, groups and organizations to join this Manifesto and endorse these demands and commitments: - For an end to all political trials against the Basque people, particularly the trial of Askapena and five Basque internationalists. - For an end to the criminalization of internationalism, particularly the solidarity with the Basque people. - Keep working the internationalist solidarity among peoples, particularly towards Euskal Herria. Because we are internationalists, Euskal Herria does not walk alone!
