Serowy Śnieg • Cheesy Snow Pavel Ryška Czechy • Czech Republic, 2007, 3’55 Od końca lat 20 psotnym i wesołym myszom we wczesnych animacjach powierzano rozpowszechnianie różnych przesłań wśród widzów; później wchodziły one nawet w role wrażliwych i żądnych przygód nastolatków. Ich staranność pozwalała publiczności zrozumieć przekaz, ale każdy sukces zmuszał je do kolejnych wyczerpujących prób. Zbawienie nadchodziło tylko wraz z budzącym strach zapomnieniem... Serowy Śnieg jest krótkim komentarzem na temat losu tych mitycznych stworzeń. From the end of the 1920’s, waggish and light-hearted mice in early animations became the bearers of diffusive messages; later they even managed to enact the roles of sensitive and adventurous teenagers. Their diligence was rewarded with the audience getting the point, but success forced them to shoot other exhausting sequels. Deliverance came only with highly-feared oblivion... Cheesy snow is a little comment on the fate of these mythic creatures.

Pavel Ryška (ur. 1974) – Animator i historyk animacji, studiował na Wydziale Sztuk Pięknych w Brnie (intermedia, malarstwo). Zajmował się uwarunkowaniami społecznymi postrzegania oraz przenikalnością najważniejszych sposobów obserwacji i interpretacji obrazów. Od 2005 do 2009 roku był doktorantem w Centrum Studiów Audiowizualnych na Wydziale Filmowym i Telewizyjnym Akademii Muzycznej w Pradze (FAMU). Interesuje go pochodzenie animacji filmowej, historiografii i komiksu. Poszukuje również pozostałości czechosłowackiej kultury wizualnej lat 50. Pavel Ryška (1974) – This animator and historian of animation studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno (intermedia, painting). He dealt with the social conditions of vision and the permeability of dominant frames within which we observe and interpret visual images. From 2005 to 2009 he was a PhD student of FAMU Centre of Audiovisual Studies. He is interested in the origin of film animation, historiography and comics. He also focuses on the search for sediments of Czechoslovak visual culture from the 1950s.
