HoogTij Industrial Zone

Development Company Westzaan Harbour Area (OHW) is owner and operator of 90 hectares in the HoogTij zone. In 2011 OHW has constructed 950 metres of new quay walls on the North Sea Canal. Although the original plan included only 550 metres, the major market interest in these so-called ‘wet’ areas encouraged OHW to almost double the length of the quay. Companies located at HoogTij are united in the so-called Business Estate Association. In this manner, they can cooperate in applying the sustainability of HoogTij more effectively. They can also work together on issues such as waste disposal management and security, adding to the positive overall image and appearance of the estate.
oogTij (High Tide) is a sustainable industrial zone of 110 hectares situated on the north side of the North Sea Canal in the municipality of Zaanstad, directly across from Amsterdam Container Terminals (ACT) in the Amerikahaven (America harbour) area of the port of Amsterdam. A major part of the zone is dedicated to businesses that rely on good water connections.
Schiphol Airport and a network of connecting motorways to the rest of the Netherlands. The construction in 2013 of a second Coen Tunnel under the North Sea Canal and the Westrandweg route will further improve accessibility. In addition to its impressive facilities on the water, HoogTij also has dry lots in various sizes. The industrial zone consists of eight different areas each with their own character and architecture. HoogTij’s eco-friendly focus is demonstrated by the use of thermal storage underground, and businesses are offered a wide range of on-site management facilities.
