want to officially welcome you to Altoona! This Community Guide is a library of information on our local businesses. As you flip the pages you’ll discover the people we call family and neighbors. Inside our town we welcome you to places of worship, spots to relax with friends, and products/services that enhance your quality of life. I’m excited for you as you discover everything Altoona has to offer. Go ahead, take this copy, it’s our gift to you! We are well into another productive year. Our mission statement is “Providing Opportunity, Encouraging Growth” and Wow!, the growth in 2012 is amazing! For starters:

Prairie Meadows opened a brand new 168 room hotel in March. As a guest you are virtually steps away from the action. There’s a “wave” of excitement over at Adventureland! Iowa’s largest wave pool is opening this summer providing 25,000 sq. feet of splashtastic fun.
