Como todas las garzas, en vuelo, generalmente vuela con el cuello doblado bajo el cuerpo que parece un bulto colgante. Aletea lentamente. La garza blanca más longeva conocida, tenía 23 años. 33” to 39”; all white, yellow bill. Neck longer than the body. As in most herons, during flight the neck curls under the body; it flaps its wings in slow motion. The oldest known Great Egret was 23 years old.
