Amplia distribución / Widespread Septiembre a mayo / September to May 18.5 a 20 cm; pico curvo, cola larga. Macho: naranja con garganta y espalda negras. Macho joven: amarillento con negro en la garganta. Hembra: toda amarillenta. Hembras y machos jovenes de otros bolseros como el bolsero castaño o el bolsero calandria, no tienen el pico largo y curvo del bolsero encapuchado. 7.3” to 7.8”. Curved bill, long tail. Male: orange with black throat and back. Young male: yellowish with black throat. Female: all yellow. The female and young male of other Orioles such as Orchard Oriole and of Bullock´s Oriole, don’t have the long curved bill of the Hooded Oriole.
