the new company. Ms. Coombs, a nurse practitioner with years of experience working with cancer patients, is also an assistant clinical professor in the school of nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to a number of oncology nurse practitioners, My Health Concierge also has billing specialists to help the patients “understand who they owe, what they owe,” Ms. Johnson said. There’s also an oncology pharmacist to help clients understand medications and their side

effects, as well as an oncology nutritionist to help them know how and what to eat during different stages of cancer treatment. One of the nurse practitioners specializes in palliative care for patients whose cancer cannot be cured. Tony Alfrey, a physicist who has lived in Woodside for 20 years, was initially diagnosed with cancer two years ago, but in January learned it had progressed to a more severe stage. Mr. Alfrey has been using My Health Concierge since he heard about it from a friend a few months ago. “My primary goal, besides getting more information about other possible treatments,” he says, “has been to be able to get the interaction between the patient and physician to work more smoothly.” The nurse practitioner he has been working with “has the ability to connect with my oncologist even when I don’t.” Before a friend mentioned My Health Concierge and Mr. Alfrey contacted the company, “I was receiving just abysmal care,” he says. His nurse practitioner had worked with his doctor in the past, Mr. Alfrey says, which may have made things easier. “She’s been acting as an intermediary,” he says, to “make things happen more smoothly.” Mr. Alfrey is also using My Health Concierge to help him find clinical trials of experimental treatments for his type of cancer after his current treatment ends. He called the process of find-

ing and getting into a clinical trial “a labyrinthine mess and just unimaginably complicated.” Getting patients matched with appropriate clinical trials is another of My Health Concierge’s services, along with finding the best doctor to give patients a second opinion on their cancer diagnosis. At this time, the services of My Health Concierge are available only to clients who can pay the costs themselves, but Ms. Johnson said she and her staff are working to convince insurance companies that My Health Concierge services can actually

save them money. Studies have found that patients who receive additional education from a nurse are more likely to have fewer emergency room visits and fewer hospital readmissions; they are also better about taking their medications as prescribed, Ms. Johnson says. “It all relates back to education, which is an important component of what we’re providing for patients,” said Ms. Johnson. She also hopes the company will soon have a nonprofit component to help those who can’t afford their services. The company is also negotiat-

ing with large businesses to add My Health Concierge’s services to their Employee Assistance Programs as a benefit available to employees who need the services for themselves or their families, she said. Up until now, Ms. Johnson said, My Health Concierge has been self-funded; but she now hopes to find a small investor who can support the up-front costs of adding a full-time nurse practitioner to the company’s staff. More information is available at the company’s website, myhealthconcierge.com . A

a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call (714) 8489272 or visit this internet Web site www. elitepostandpub.com, using the file number assigned to this case 12-20112. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale.
