OUR VISION BEING AHEAD. More than ten Years of Recognized Leadership in Innovation and Technology. The first prototype rod built using the Airrus blank concept was made in July of 2001. At that time Airrus wasn’t Airrus, it was Sirrus and remained as such until 2003 when, after our 2nd ICAST win in a row in the rod category. Shakespeare decided that we needed to change our name to something other than Sirrus do to a trademark dispute. Airrus Rods made its debut at ICAST in 2003, winning the Rod Category the "Best of Show" award with the introduction of the Spectra AFT series. Airrus was the first fishing rod company to apply a series of new technologies that have changed the entire bass fishing rod construction philosophy in the last 10 years: Filament Wound construction (2002). Nano technology Resins (2005), with the N-Synch Flipping Stix, used by Boyd Duckett to win his Bassmaster Classic championship in 2007, S2 glass to enhance the strenght and sensitivity of the blanks, Carbon Fiber Handle, with megaphone effect (2006).

Although our rods have taken on some rather innovative looks over the years our original blank concept has not changed since our first rod was made some ten years ago. Airrus has always tried to stay on top of the latest advances in materials and production concepts in order to offer our customers the finest rods money can buy. The new 2011 Co-matrix 2.0, Micro Puls and Nano Fusion all carry on the Airrus tradition of innovative excellence in materials and components along with the superb styling and performance you have come to expect from Airrus. We are now the first rod company that is making a new step in the Nanotechnology with the introduction of the Buckypaper and that is redefining the microguide concept with a new type of guides (Airrus Microguides System). INNOVATION AIRRUS TRADEMARK

The X-Entity is a further step in the future of fishing rod performance, a rod that doesn't follow the common rules. Designed using an unconventional scheme and an unprecedented technology by Airrus, to realize an iconic rod. The blank was developed with different goals. The first was create an extremely powerful structure: we did it designing an oversized blank that uses different carbon fiber blends oriented in three different angles to increase torsional and vertical strenght and compression resistance. An additional result of this design is a very reactive blank with an incredible hook setting ability. This new oversize blank, called AOS, was designed using the same quantity of carbon fiber material but dramatically increasing the diameter: that allowed to mantain a lightweight structure increasing the flex strenght.

A secondary effect of this design choice is what we call "IME" (integrated megaphone effect): you will feel faster and better the vibration because of the sounding-board effect that the diameter creates. We added to the main structure the new "V-Torsion" tip, a new concept of hybrid solid tip, developed with our own combination of S2 Fiber. The use of this innovative material develops an incredibly hard-wearing tip, with high shock resistance and low thermal expansion. Additionally it brings superior casting ability even with smaller lures, and superior sensitivity, letting you feel any bump, rock, obstacle that your bait touches. Imagine yourself casting a very light bait further and more precisely. Imagine yourself feeling every obstacle thanks to increased vibrations, moving the bait over it, feeling the slightest bite and then setting the hook with the extreme power and speed of the AOS backbone.

That's the future. That's a reality. That's the X-Entity. That's now.

The AOS Design gives several advantages that are not possible with a conventional blank design. The structure of the blank have an increased diameter but it uses the same amount of material, that's possible thanks to the blank structure, made by three different blends of carbon fibers oriented in three different directions. This design, allows the rod to have an unprecedented torsional and vertical strenght and an incredible compression resistance, the main effect is a very powerful hook-setting capability. The diameter and additional space in the blank creates what we call "IME". The Integrated Megaphone Effect is the next evolutionary step of our megaphone technology. The sounding-board effect of the blank increases drastically the vibration transmission, creating an extremely sensitive rod, mantaining the lightweight structure. The overall result of the AOS Design is an unconventional yet incredibly performing fishing rod. GUIDES SYSTEM:

One of the most critical parts of a fishing rod blank is the tip. It creates the action, it's the last section of the rod that is responsible for the cast and the hook setting, it makes you feel better the bites and control the bait. When faced with the challenge of improving the existing blanks, we decided to develop a completely renewed tip. The goal was providing a superior casting distance and precision, even for smaller and lighter baits, improving the bait control and sensitivity. We realized a solid glass tip, using our own S2 fiber, capable of shredding the performances ever reached by a traditional, tubular tip. We created the V-Torsion tip. The softness of this tip combined with the underlying blank power, creates a combo of fantastic casting and sensitivity performances, and hook setting and fighting power capabilities. The material is incredibly strong and hard-wearing, thanks to the higher shock resistance and and lower thermal expansion and deformation.

We "just" improved the 2002 ICAST BEST OF SHOW. Aesthetically. Technically. We reduced the RadiaMatrix blank weight, we improved its taper to give you a clear vision of what your lure is doing underwater. We removed completely the foregrip and replaced the usual nylon hood with a extra light custom carbon hood to reduce weight and to transmit more vibrations. This indistructible and exclusive military grade material (built in U.S.A) is a nano membrane capable to strenghten the backbone of the rod allowing a powerful hook setting without dispersing any energy, to amplify the vibrations, to reduce the tip oscillations after each cast. The 1.5 Joint system is the first in fishing rod industry that gives a two pieces rod an action that is very similar to a GUIDES SYSTEM:

developed the Wrestle "big bait special" with the goal to create an unprecedented fishing rod focused on heavy duty fishing (Swimbaits, Umbrella Rig, Musky, Striped Bass). With heavy duty rods, many times rod companies rely on low module, high-resin blanks that have a very high torsional strength to avoid breakage - the result is a heavy, stiff and dead rod. Airrus, for the first time, wanted to use its radial-matrix and multimodulus technology, that is based on various modules of carbon fiber used on different parts of the blank (high module on tips, super-high on the backbone) that will allow you to feel completely the action of the lure or subtle bites even on deeper waters. The reaction times of this blank are very low, like the micro-vibrations of the tip after the cast that can reduce the casting distance and precision, this feature allows you to react faster on bites of a topwater lure, or cast further with maximum precision your 8" swimbait. The Airrus Zero establishes a new category of rods. There, in the realm of advanced ultra-light rods, is nothing like the Zero. Uncommon by length, tip action and power, the Zero is a rod developed to express the best performances with lure weights of 1/32 to 1/4oz, in all the situations where you need to understand in real time what the lure is doing underwater and how the fish is biting it. To obtain this result we used an hybrid solid tip, developed starting from the V-Torsion tip of the flagship rod X-Entity, this allows the rod to have a never seen before "nimble" action in the tip section. This tip have a very low thermic expansion, saving it from breakage caused by cold climate, a very uncommon elasticity, soft action that not allows the fish to "feel" the rod weight during the bite. We used “Airrus red” to make the tip more visible in low light situation and help the bite perception. The blank is constructed with the Multimodulus Radial Matrix carbon fiber technology, with different modules on different positions of the blank. The Zero is powered by X-Concept, an extreme study on ergonomics with the goal to create a rod that is more balanced, comfortable and light. The concept aﬀords a lower entry angle from the reel into the ﬁrst three stripper guides which are staggered in height to reduce friction yet still provide the superior line control associated with micro guides.

THE MEGAPHONE A SENSITIVITY REVOLUTION The Megaphone Effect was first recognized during the development of the Tradition series as an increased sensitivity in the grip do to the integral nature of the blank and grip. During the development of the Puls-R a similar vibration transfer was realized in the grip, however in this instance the vibrations travelling down the blank reverse direction at the internal point of contact inside the grip allowing them to flow forward through the grip. We call this Reverse Vibration Transfer or RVT for short. In either, case just like the shape of a megaphone enhances sound the shape of the grip on the Puls-R, Tradition and now our Nano Fusion series enhances the vibrations emanating from the blank.

THE TRIANGLE Airrus introduced on the market Kigan’s new triangular ringed guides on its new X-Entity series. Kigan’s new triangular shaped insert creates a symbioctic relationship between the insert and the guide by each providing additional strength and support for the other. In the patent ﬁled on these new guides it took eleven pages of mathmatical computations to support an average reduction in the amount of line friction against the insert by an incredible 29%, which also translates into reduced heating of the line which in the long run promotes greater line life. In testing we noticed that the new guides provided for longer and more accurate casts with less eﬀort which supported Kigan’s fatigue reduction theory.
