The resources that nourish a school are both tangible and intangible.

CAMPUS MASTER PLAN 2020 - 2022

Campus development We depend on people and their goodwill, advocacy and alignment with our values; and we depend on financial resources to fund the steps, both great and small, which we must take on our bold path to a vibrant future for Aiglon. As a school run on not-for-profit principles, we have grown upon a foundation of individual and collective generosity. Aiglon's first permanent home was purchased in 1955 with donations made by parents and friends of founder John Corlette. In the following years, Aiglon’s campus grew in an opportunistic and sometimes haphazard way by acquiring and redeveloping adjacent properties when available, and constructing purpose-built facilities. There have been key times in Aiglon’s history when the philanthropy of our community has allowed us to take giant steps forward. In the 1990s teaching provision in sciences, ICT and music were transformed with the creation of the John Corlette Building, funded principally by donations. In 2012 we opened the Tony Jashanmal Sports Centre, also made possible by the generosity of many Aiglon families past and present. As the school has consolidated, grown and matured, it has become essential to take a longer term, sustainable view of the campus of the future. While we will continue to acquire adjacent buildings, where these afford important opportunities for future planning, we must focus equally on investing in purpose-built facilities that support our needs in relevant and transformational ways. Our campus master plan provides a road map for a campus that is inspiring, and aligned with our values and priorities, while allowing us to be a responsible leader in matters of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Our most recent projects have taken account of strict environmental norms to reduce negative environmental impact, and this will remain a core priority in future planning. Aiglon’s careful stewardship of its resources has permitted major investment in upgrading the campus and developing new boarding facilities in recent years. But revenue from tuition fees cannot alone fund transformational projects for major new buildings. We thank the members of our community who have partnered with us and continue to make our projects a reality.

Aiglon is a community of students, families, staff, and over 5,600 alumni from around the world who have attended the school since our beginning in 1949. Our conviction is that a great education prepares young people to be active agents of positive change and service to others and our world. Developing in our students an understanding of philanthropy and their individual and collective capacity to be impactful shapers is therefore a constant thread through an Aiglon education.
