Alliance Ukraine’s experience integrating HIV, harm reduction and sexual and reproductive
health programming
Women who use drugs are often overlooked in HIV and harm reduction programmes. Although women are increasingly affected by HIV in Ukraine, harm reduction programmes in Ukraine, like those globally, have been traditionally oriented towards men, reaching fewer women who use drugs and overlooking the challenges they face.
This case study focuses on three interventions introduced by Alliance Ukraine in response, aiming to support the health and rights of women who use drugs through implementing gender sensitive integrated HIV, harm reduction and SRH programmes.
