New Year, New Plans for Giving Where It Matters The start of each year inspires many of us to try something new: maybe exercise more, perform more random acts of kindness or get organized. It’s also a perfect time to make a difference for young people everywhere by adding Adventure Unlimited as a beneficiary of your estate. Whether you’ve already done this as a member of the Summit Society or are thinking about how you can make an impact on future generations, we’re grateful for you.

When you make a gift through one of our many planned giving options, you’re supporting Adventure Unlimited’s mission of “Opening Windows to God” for Christian Science youth and their friends each year. You’re also creating a legacy that will continue to bless the world.

I was on the porch of one of the lodges, and a group of campers and counselors were having a morning inspirational session, where I heard the thoughts and testimonies from the kids. That was it! I knew that Christian Science was being practiced and lives were being changed and molded. As I spent more time there, it was clear that this atmosphere was so nurturing and conducive

What is the Summit Society? The Summit Society was established to honor those who have taken the special step of including Adventure Unlimited in their long-term plans through a bequest provision, retirement plan assets, life insurance policy, life-income gift or other deferred giving arrangement.

Adventure Unlimited’s purpose is to provide inspiring recreational, leadership, service, educational, and social activities for Christian Scientists and their friends, which nurture healing and a sense of community, in an atmosphere conducive to practical reliance on Christian Science.

Bequests: Simple Process, Big Impact A conversation with Rob Blackwell, President, AU-DB Foundation Q: Why would someone leave a bequest to Adventure Unlimited?

A: I often visit with alumni and friends who have included Adventure Unlimited in their estate plans. In every case, they have a deep commitment to the organization and want to sustain and grow its impact for future generations of Christian Science youth. They want to make a difference. And they believe in Adventure Unlimited’s mission of “Opening Windows to God.” Q: What are the easiest ways to make a bequest to Adventure Unlimited? A: The easiest way is to name Adventure Unlimited as beneficiary of a retirement plan (IRA, 401(k)/403(b), etc.). You just complete a new beneficiary designation Rob Blackwell form with the retirement plan administrator and designate Adventure Unlimited to receive a portion of the funds upon your passing. You can even name Adventure Unlimited as a beneficiary of a paid-up life insurance policy or a bank/investment account. You don’t even need an attorney, although it’s always a good idea to consult a qualified legal or financial professional when making any change to your plans. Q: What about naming Adventure Unlimited in a will or trust? A: A bequest in a will or trust is another very popular way of leaving something for Adventure Unlimited. It can provide general operating support or be designated to something specific like the A/U Ranches, DiscoveryBound or the Adventure Unlimited Endowment. Ask your attorney about revising your will or trust, and be sure to provide our legal name and address: Adventure Unlimited, 5201 S. Quebec St., Greenwood Village, CO 80111.

Alumni and friends who leave a bequest to Adventure Unlimited have a deep commitment to the organization and want to sustain and grow its impact for future generations of Christian Science youth. Rob
