The ideal screw for solid wood floors The ideal screw for laying solid-wood flooring. Thanks to the special screw geometry and the CUT point, splitting is effectively reduced. The CUT point also ensures an immediate grip of the screw. The cutting ribs under the head allow easy countersinking of the small head. Well suited for secret fastening of tongue and groove floorboards.

The features

• Drill point suited for up to 4mm of steel reinforcement. The FEX coupling screw makes it possible to simply and efficiently connect PVC frame profiles. After the frames have been put in place and aligned, a 6mm hole is pre-drilled into the reinforcement of the first frame to avoid the thread gripping. Through the 40mm partial thread, the resulting screwed connection between the two frames with the FEX coupling screw ensures a permanent and gap-free fastening.

Metal Screw The SPAX solution for connecting timber to steel in DELTA®-SEAL This is the SPAX timber to steel screw for board thicknesses of 16 – 22mm. It’s ideal for fastening fencing, screening, decking* or cement board to steel joists.

Step 1

Do not use an impact driver to drive SPAX screws – use a normal drill at high speed. Step 1 - Pre-drill the timber boards with a SPAX Step Drill (SPAX No. 5000009196540). There is no need to pre-drill the steel, as the specially designed tip of the timber to steel screw will pre-drill steel up to 5mm thick (minimum recommended steel thickness is 1.5mm). On decking boards, make sure to use a SPAX air spacer to allow enough space for timber and metal shavings. The air spacer also ensures the timber and steel are not in contact, to prevent corrosion.

Step 2

Step 2 - Adjust your SPAX Step Drill and SPAX Drive Stop to the appropriate depth. You may need to test this on an offcut. Drive the timber to steel screw straight in with a SPAX Drive Stop at high speed (1,000 - 2,500rpm).
