McCAMISH PAVILION The opening of McCamish Pavilion marks a new era for Georgia Tech Athletics and provides a state-of-the-art home for Tech basketball. Resting on the same footprint as historic Alexander Memorial Coliseum on the corner of 10th and Fowler Streets, McCamish Pavilion hosts its first games November 9, 2012, when Georgia Tech meets Tulane in men’s basketball, followed on November 11 by the match-up of Georgia Tech and Tennessee in women’s basketball. McCamish Pavilion is named for Hank McCamish, a long-time insurance executive in the Atlanta area whose family provided the lead gift for the $50 million facility. Ground was broken for the on-campus Pavilion on May 5, 2011, and just 18 months later, the new venue, complete with great viewing locations, a luxurious club area, and the latest in sports technology, will open its doors. The Main Concourse allows spectators to view the action on the floor from any vantage point, so fans will never miss a minute of play while walking to conveniently located restrooms and concessions. A new four-screen video scoreboard hangs above center court, complete with multi-facing LED message boards. The balcony level fascia also has a 360-degree ribbon board for messaging and graphics. Most of the framework in the venue is brand new,

though Tech fans will notice the familiar dome of Alexander Memorial Coliseum and its 32 steel ribs, which provide the skeleton for the new structure. A new roof was installed, and the ribs and the ceiling were re-painted. Fans may notice that pieces from the former court in the Coliseum have been inlaid into the ribs around the Main Concourse. The new court remains named in honor of legendary basketball coach Bobby Cremins, who led the Tech men’s team from 1981-2000 and who compiled a record of 354-237, including three Atlantic Coast Conference championships and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances in his 19 seasons. Outside the West Entrance of McCamish Pavilion sits a courtyard, honoring legendary football coach and Director of Athletics William Alexander, who led the drive to build the Coliseum in the 1950s and whose determination created a home for Yellow Jacket basketball for more than 55 years.
The Grand Entrance to McCamish Pavilion, facing the corner of 10th and Fowler Streets, includes depictions of the retired jerseys of Tech greats Roger Kaiser, Rich Yunkus, Mark Price, John Salley, Tom Hammonds and Matt Harpring, as well as commemorations of coaches Whack Hyder and Cremins, and longtime radio announcer Al Ciraldo. Georgia Tech’s 1990 and 2004 Men’s NCAA Final Four teams and the 1992 Women’s WNIT Championship team are also recognized in the Grand Entrance. McCamish Pavilion is the first project in a major transformation of the Fowler Street entrance to the Georgia Tech campus. In addition to new sidewalks and landscaping along the street, the Yellow Jackets’ new tennis facility, the Ken Byers Tennis Complex, will open in January of 2013. Whiting-Turner Contracting was the general contractor for the project, which was designed by architecture firm Populous.

HENRY F. “HANK” McCAMISH JR. IM 1950 Born in 1928 in Greenwood, South Carolina, Hank is one of Georgia Tech’s most respected alumni and the quintessential selfmade entrepreneur. He enrolled in Georgia Tech in 1946 and paid his tuition by working many part-time jobs. After graduating in 1950 with a degree in Industrial Management, Hank spent the better part of five decades pioneering unique and uncharted segments of the life insurance industry. As his success grew, so did his legendary support of Georgia Tech and its athletic programs.

GENERAL INFORMATION ATM ATMs are located on the Main Concourse level, across from Sections 103 and 111. Please note that ATMs are not available outside the facility or near the ticket offices. The ticket office does accept most major credit cards. Callaway Club The Callaway Club offers 500 of the most desired seats in the Pavilion, with exclusive access to a private and luxurious interior lounge, highlighted by upscale buffet dining, large flat-screen HDTV’s, private restrooms and more. To access the Callaway Club, patrons can enter adjacent to Sections 107 and 111 on the Main Concourse and must have proper tickets for admittance. Commerical Activities All commercial activities must have prior written approval from Georgia Tech Sports Properties and the Georgia Tech Athletic Association. Concession Stands Six concession stands – four on the Main Concourse level and two on the Balcony level –are located across from Sections 103, 105, 112, 114, 204 and 210. Concessions are operated by Sodexo and feature sporting venue favorites such as hot dogs, popcorn, sodas and water. Doors The doors will open 60 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the event, though campus

parking areas will open 90 minutes prior. Entrances to the facility are located on the West, North and East sides of the arena. Emergency Evacuation Procedures Should there be an immediate need to evacuate McCamish Pavilion, guests will be given instructions via the public-address system, the center court video boards and McCamish Pavilion event staff. Guests are encouraged to take the following steps: w Be aware of your location in McCamish Pavilion at all times. w Identify the two exits closest to your seats. w Listen, watch for and follow instructions from the publicaddress systems, video boards, and McCamish Pavilion event staff. w Ask for assistance and information from McCamish Pavilion event staff, police, and medical personnel.
Entry Gates Entry gates are located on the West, North and East sides of McCamish Pavilion. A dedicated entrance for courtside and Callaway Club ticket-holders is located at the East Entrance, but ticketed patrons may gain access to the facility via any of the three entrances. Students may only access the facility via the West Entrance, unless they possess a valid ticket outside of the student section.
GENERAL INFORMATION Fan Behavior Georgia Tech invites all fans to enjoy the game, but reminds you to be respectful of the competitors on the court and of other spectators. The Georgia Tech Athletic Association reserves the right to remove any patron who interferes with the game or causes a disturbance for fellow patrons around them. Profanity, racist or sexist comments and other intimidating words or actions are grounds for removal from McCamish Pavilion. First-Aid First-aid is present at all events at McCamish Pavilion. There is a First-Aid Station located inside the Grand Entrance on the Main Concourse level, across from Section 100. Should you need medical assistance, please notify event personnel or go to the First-Aid Station. In an emergency, AED units are also available in four locations: First-Aid Station on floor level, Grand Entrance First-Aid Station (Section 100), West Entrance (Section 113) and East Entrance (Section 106). Garbage/Recycling Waste and recycling areas are located throughout the Main Concourse and Balcony, as well as in all restroom areas. Co-mingle recycling containers may be used for paper, cardboard and plastic bottles and are found adjacent to all trash receptacles.
Guest Services Guest Services is located on the Main Concourse adjacent to the Grand Entrance and Section 100. Services include general game information, lost children, lost and found, upcoming schedules and general Pavilion information. Lost & Found During an event, lost and found is located at Guest Services, adjacent to the Grand Entrance and Section 100. After the conclusion of an event, please contact cwatts@athletics.gatech.edu no earlier than the next business day to claim items. Parking A total of six parking areas serve McCamish Pavilion for men’s basketball games, while 3 or 4 are available for women’s games and other events, based on expected attendance. All parking areas are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for women’s games. For men’s games, the McCamish, East O’Keefe and Family Housing Lots currently have no availability. Seasonlong parking is still available in Lower Peters Deck, and
Centergy Deck. The State Street Deck (W23) serves as the best option for game day parking during the 2012-13 season. Prohibited Items No alcohol is permitted in the arena. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in or around McCamish Pavilion. Cans, bottles, coolers or other food/beverage containers and their contents are prohibited. Weapons, fireworks, laser pointers, explosives or munitions are also not permitted inside McCamish Pavilion. All bags are subject to search. Public Transportation McCamish Pavilion is easily accessible from MARTA. The Midtown Station (at 10th and West Peachtree) is the closest MARTA stop and is serviced by the Tech Trolley. Re-Entry Re-entry to McCamish Pavilion is not permitted. Tickets/Will Call All ticket windows, including will call, are staffed 90 minutes prior to tip-off through halftime. No tickets will be available for pick-up or purchase after the second half has begun. All persons over two years of age must have a ticket to enter the facility, and all guests picking up tickets or credentials from one of the following locations must present a valid government ID to gain admittance. General Will Call – General will call is located at the Grand Entrance ticket office (corner of 10th and Fowler). Media Will Call – Media will call is located at the West Entrance ticket office, adjacent to the primary entrance to the facility for media and students (Fowler Street). One is located at the Grand Entrance and provides access to the main ticket booth and concourse and balcony levels only. This elevator also services the Georgia Tech locker rooms and, as such, may be offline to ticket holders for certain periods of time prior to, during and after the game. Food, Beverage & Concessions All food and beverage concessions in McCamish Pavilion are wheelchair accessible. Concession stands have pens and paper and large print LED menus to provide assistance in communication.
Guest Services McCamish Pavilion Guest Services is open during all events to assist guests and answer questions. Guest Services is located on the Concourse adjacent to the Grand Entrance and Section 100. If Guest Services is not open due to the event configuration, please check with the ticket office at the Grand Entrance to McCamish Pavilion. Medical Services The First Aid Station is located near the Grand Entrance doors adjacent to Section 100. Parking Designated ADA parking spaces are available for guests with disabled parking placards along Fowler Street, between 6th and 10th Streets, on a season-long basis. A limited number of single-game spots will also be available on a firstcome, first-serve basis. Restrooms All restroom facilities in McCamish Pavilion are fully accessible. There are seven (7) public restrooms for each gender located throughout the Main and Balcony concourses. There are also three (3) fully accessible family/unisex restrooms: one on the floor level (for courtside patrons only) and two on the Main Concourse level.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS When will McCamish Pavilion open on game day? The arena will open 60 minutes prior to tipoff. Where can I purchase tickets on game day? Tickets can always be purchased online at ramblinwreck.com or at the main ticket office at 150 Bobby Dodd Way Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. On game day, the best place to purchase tickets is from the ticket office at the Grand Entrance to McCamish Pavilion (corner of 10th and Fowler). This ticket office opens 90 minutes prior to tip-off every game day. What gate should I enter through? Ticketed seat-holders may gain access to the building through any of the three entrances (Grand, East, West). Students are required to enter through the West Entrance of the building (Fowler Street). Where should I park if I do not have a season parking pass? Men’s basketball season parking passes are still available by contacting the Georgia Tech Ticket Office. Patrons also have choices on a single-game basis. The Centergy parking deck (Williams Street) or the State Street Deck (off 10th and State) are prepared to handle event parking and are your best options. What are the Callaway Club hours? The Callaway Club will be open when the gates are open, from 60 minutes prior to tipoff through the conclusion of the game. DURING MEN’ S BASKETBALL GAMES What do I show to get into Callaway Club? Do I need a special pass? A special Calloway Club or Courtside ticket is required for entry. When you check-in, we will give you a wristband so you may come and go from the Club as you wish. How do I access the Callaway Club? I WAS WONDERING... Why did you pick a seating color scheme of charcoal gray? The decision to pick this color was made to enhance the lighting concept in the entire building and especially the theatrical element for Cremins Court. Were the basketball coaches consulted in the design? Yes, the coaches were involved in numerous aspects of the design and operation of the new building. Are the friendly ushers from Alexander Memorial Coliseum going to be working at McCamish? Many of the friendly faces from AMC will be working in the new building. Some will be McCamish ambassadors and others will be employed by the new event staffing partner, Event Operations Group (EOG). How did you decide what technology would be in the building? We sought out state-of-the-art technology elements to enhance the game day experience for our fans. The additional electronic components also create flexibility for our advertising partner, Georgia Tech Sports Properties, to showcase our valued corporate partners. How much did the renovations cost? The total project was approximately $50 million. How much Institute or public money was used to build the venue? All of the construction costs were paid using Athletic Association funds. The Institute did support some elements of the underground infrastructure which connects McCamish Pavilion to the rest of the campus. Absolutely no public funds were used in this project. Why did you choose the same roof design? The roof design is an iconic connection to the past and one we wanted to protect. In addition, a new roof would have changed the scope of the project and added considerable cost. Why didn’t GT tear down the structure and build from scratch? A complete tear down with a new design and build would have increased the cost of the project to more than $100 million. We were confident we could create a new building and enhance the atmosphere without having to demolish all of the original elements of AMC. Why is the capacity smaller in the new venue? We wanted to create an intimate atmosphere where our teams had the ultimate home court advantage. It was also important that all of the viewing locations for our fans be functional, comfortable and close to the action. To accomplish these goals we maximized the seat count based on the space that was available. Why are the Main Concourse Level and Balcony Level concourses not 360-degrees? On the Main Councourse, we created 270-degrees of space based on the design of the exclusive Callaway Club which accounts for three sections (108-110). The Balcony Level was designed in two unique segments to accommodate the Grand Entrance inside the building where we welcome our fans for every game and highlight our rich basketball history.

HEAD COACHES
BRIAN GREGORY Men’s Head Coach Brian Gregory, who led the University of Dayton to 97 victories over his last four seasons and who worked under Tom Izzo at Michigan State when the Spartans won the 2000 NCAA Championship, was named Georgia Tech’s head basketball coach on March 28, 2011. Gregory is the 13th head coach in Yellow Jacket history. Gregory coached eight seasons at Dayton where he compiled a record of 172-94 and participated in the NCAA Tournament or NIT five times. His 2003-04 and 2008-09 teams earned NCAA
MaCHELLE JOSEPH Women’s Head Coach During her tenure as the head women’s basketball coach at Georgia Tech, MaChelle Joseph has turned the Yellow Jackets into a perennial top-25 team and a contender for the ACC title. Entering her 10th season at the helm in 2012-13, Joseph has guided the Jackets to six straight 20-win seasons and six consecutive NCAA Tournament berths. Through nine years as head coach, Joseph has a 179-106 record and has the highest overall and ACC winning percentage of any Tech coach.

Tournament berths and the 2009-10 Flyers captured the NIT crown after beating North Carolina in the championship game. The 1990 Oakland (Mich.) University graduate won 150 games faster (seven seasons) than any coach in Dayton history. Over the last four seasons combined, his teams went 13-4 against BCS-level programs. Gregory clearly put an emphasis on academics during his tenure at Dayton. Entering the 2010-11 season, every senior who played for Gregory graduated (23-of-23). All seven seniors who played on the 2010 NIT title team graduated last spring. That trend has continued during his first year at Tech with the graduation of 2011 seniors
Moe Miller and Lance Storrs, and 2012 seniors Derek Craig and Nick Foreman. Despite a difficult initial campaign at Georgia Tech in terms of wins and losses, Gregory has gone about laying the foundation for success in the Yellow Jackets’ program. Gregory’s first season saw Tech score victories over a pair of NCAA Tournament teams in VCU and N.C. State, both away from home, and a win over Georgia in Athens for the program’s first victory there in 35 years. He and his staff made a big splash on the recruiting trail in their first year on the job, signing four highly-regarded high school players from the Atlanta area to form a class ranked as high as 14th nationally. Gregory and wife Yvette have two daughters, Isabella and Elyse.
Last season, Joseph led the Yellow Jackets to the best season in school history. Tech won program-highs of 26 overall games, 12 road games and 12 Atlantic Coast Conference games. The Yellow Jackets’ tie for third place in the league was the highest a Tech team has finished and the Jackets advanced to only the second ACC Championship Game in school history. The magical season continued with a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the highest ever, as Tech advanced to its first Sweet 16 and finished the year ranked No. 10. Under the tutelage of Joseph, five Yellow Jackets have been selected in the WNBA Draft, including first round selections
Alex Montgomery (10th overall in 2011 by the New York Liberty) and Sasha Goodlett (11th overall in 2012 by the Indiana Fever). Fourteen Yellow Jackets have earned All-ACC honors and three – Janie Mitchell in 2008, Brigitte Ardossi in 2010 and Sasha Goodlett in 2012 – have earned the Georgia College Player of the Year award from the Atlanta Tipoff Club. Joseph has twice (2007 and 2012) been named the Georgia College Coach of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. A native of Auburn, Ind., Joseph graduated from Purdue in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in movement and sports science.
