The water travels from the northern most pool down to the bottom right through an underground pipe into a succession of pools to the left-most retention pond. This allows time for all of the pollutants to settle out of the water and cleaning it as well as retaining it. The retaining ponds will have an added benefit of being aesthetically pleasing to the visitors of the site because of the curvilinear and natural form of the ponds.
