Grade Point Average (GPA) After completion of a course, you are issued a letter grade. Most letter grades have a numerical point value. To compute your Grade-Point Average, multiply the number of quality points (shown for the letter grade on Grade Conversion Chart below) by the number of credits for that course. Divide the total number of points earned in all courses by the total number of credits.

Academic Standing While enrolled at BMCC, your academic performance is continually evaluated in order that you and the College can determine how you are progressing in your studies. Your evaluation is based upon your cumulative Grade-Point Average (GPA). The following minimum retention standards must be met:

Cumulative Credits Attempted 0- 12 13- 24 25- upward

Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) 1.50 1.75 2.00

If you do not meet these standards, you may run the risk of academic probation or dismissal.
