Job description
A senior software engineer working on backend systems will be involved in all aspects of Issuu's infrastructure and operations. Issuu's services are built on Amazon's scalable infrastructure (EC2, S3, etc). You will be working on the server-side design and code for our platforms, systems, and web applications, as well as internal systems to manage our services. The backend team is relatively small considering the volume of data and visitors using our services, therefore simplicity and scalability of both systems and processes are of vital importance. The daily focus is on productivity and delivering results, while ensuring customer satisfaction, performance, and reliability of our platform.
We seek an individual with a CS background and experience that includes development of high-availability online services. Candidates should have a passion for solving complex and interesting problems. Our backend systems must solve problems from just about every area of computer science, including search, information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, etc. We are also looking for the following qualities:
