Business Development Manager
Issuu is a provider of online electronic publishing services for private users and businesses. The company is expanding rapidly and is looking to hire a Business Development Manager
for our Copenhagen office. Issuu is financially backed by Copenhagen-based venture capital fund Sunstone Capital.
Issuu lets users upload and convert standard PDF files to flash based online publications that can be embedded on web sites, social networks or accessed on issuu.com. Issuu’s
electronic publishing service comes free of charge for authors that accept advertising or as a paid service for those that wish to offer their documents without advertisement.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting and negotiating agreements with content providers, advertising partners and other potential partners for Issuu.
The role includes the responsibility to lead the development of new revenue models for the company.
Key responsibilities
- Execute against a pipeline of key potential content partners (sources of magazines, books, brochures, images etc...)
- Prospect and close deals with other potential sources of content, distribution and monetization (leading social networks, CPA partners, etc.)
- Lead an internal effort to develop several new potential revenue models
- Lead or assist occasional marketing initiatives on an as needed basis
- It’s a small company, so expect additional challenges to arise
Qualifications
- Friendly, enthusiastic person who is smart, passionate, and likes to sell
- Smart decision-maker who is comfortable acting in a less structured environment
- Strong familiarity with web 2.0, social networks, and the Internet generally
- Bachelor degree and minimum 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or banking; MBA is a plus
- Solid understanding of Excel and PowerPoint required
- Experience negotiating deal terms is a plus
- Occasional travel in Europe and the US will be required
