NLESS A BUILDER IS INVOLVED in public institution construction-the building of hotels, motels or theatres-- they may not even be aware of the state’s Building Commission. Headed since 2009 by Katherine Lynn, an architecture graduate of Auburn University, the commission works to keep a level playing field in the arenas in which it operates. It also works to insure that the public gets what it pays for when it comes to public construction.
