Suits for the guys were rented, the bridesmaids were just given a colour and asked to buy something in a retro style. “For food, we were quite lucky that my father used to have his own restaurant and he teaches cooking to his students,” said Jessica. “He catered the entire event with a few friends that came up to help him from California.” Desserts also came from family, and the couple provided much of their own toasting material. “For alcohol, we made our own wine and had a Granville Island Brewery keg,” said Jessica. Jessica said after the memorable wedding, she has no regrets, either about the money spent, or about anything she could have bought with more money. After the officiant and marriage licence, the only really unavoidable costs, photography is considered one of the most important expenses, she said.
